The flying club ASPTT Poitiers is an association affiliated with the Fédération Française Aéronautique (FFA) based on voluntary workers. With its 3 aircraft, a Robin DR400 140b, a Robin DR400 120 and a Jodel classic DH251, the club has around 50 members.
The club is a certified flying school to train pilots for their BIA (Brevet d’Initiation Aéronautique), LAPL (Light Aircraft Pilot Licence) and the PPL (Private Pilots Licence). You have to be at least 15 years old to start training.
In addition to training, the club also organises introductory flights, Discovering piloting (which are a great gift idea) and general ‘jaunts’ in the air. For more information consult the internet site of the club.
You have alos the opportunity to fly over the construction of the new LGV lines. The pilots organize varied activities: trips abroad as well as around the region, rallies and many other activities with the FFA. Created in 1978 the flying club have kept their popularity by keeping tariffs reasonable and accesible.
In 2013, approximate price 99-129€ an hour depending on the type of aircraft.
